The Cure for Cancer is Here
It took my mother of 64 having 4 cancers, 1 other cancer scare, gastric bypass and an arm load of life slapping me in the face to realize what we can do together. More about my personal experience of the fight in another article.
Regardless of popular belief, the cure for cancer growing ever closer. I believe it is upon us. The responsibility is ours. Lets do this together!
The hard work has been done, the finish line in sight. Countless lives have been lost and families effected. A fate worse than death, cancer has been moved to the top of the list of things that are killing people rich and poor all around the globe. For rich or for poor, religion not withstanding this terrible disease has decimated my family, my friends and humanity as a whole.
Today I declare that an end is in sight for this awful disease.
The problem with cancer and treatment comes down to time. We can not manipulate time. Some people feel that as they age, they do so like a fine wine. Some people feel as if time could be best described by this famous star trek phrase, “They say time is the fire in which we burn. Right now, Captain, my time is running out. We leave so many things unfinished in our lives.”
While Sci-fi gives us hope, a new technology and means to apply that technology are also in development or are already here. We need to assemble them.
That’s right, you read that correctly WE need to assemble it. This is an open source project and anyone who wants to contribute something may do so.
Lets talk about what and how to contribute in a few minutes.
So, lets get to the cold hard facts and the numbers. Cancer is defined as a disease in which abnormal cells divide uncontrollably and destroy body tissue. 2018 saw 609,640 died. 1, 735, 350 new cases were reported. In 2019 we saw 606,880 deaths.
With knowing the basics… it is time to get started. Please start thinking of 3 ways you can stop cancer with technology above chemo, surgery and radiation, stem cells, and combinations and techniques those vehicles will continue to be our method to treat. But how much of one thing and should we on another front is still widely debated.
Do I have you slightly confused yet? Are you slightly curious? Do you feel you may not be smart enough to embark on this trek with me?
Fret not!
You get a flat tire on a cold and snowy day. What do you do? I would be calling ahead to whomever is expecting me to let them know that I do indeed have a problem and might be late. I phone friends in the area for help if they are around and finally i warm my car up and change the tire to the doughnut. I limp the car around all day and later fix it at a local station.
Your routine for that frustrating situation has happened before. You remember the anger, frustration, the plethora of emotion crowding you. The fact is, we all survived such a benign event. Cancer needs a different perspective.
Cancer treatment Right now it is see cancer, mechanically remove cancer, biopsy cancer, chemically treat any potential cells left and use radiation where needed. There is a great cost of time. Almighty time.
The one thing in the universe we can not control is time.
I would like to challenge that phrase “we can not control time”. We most certainly can control time. By doing so we will take a toll on the battle for eradicating cancers. At some point eliminate the disease all together.
